MumblesThe pretty, bustling seaside village of Mumbles with its cafés, bistros, galleries and boutiques sits at the southern tip of Swansea Bay some fi ve miles from the centre of Swansea. Generally known as the gateway to Gower, cosmopolitan Mumbles has something for everyone; all within walking distance. Mumbles boasts shops galore. Small independent names and boutiques selling everything from high end fashion to surfi ng gear, Welsh lovespoons, local arts and crafts and seafood, continental charcuterie and handmade chocolates.Cafés and restaurants are also plentiful, many serving local fi sh and seafood caught daily. From Mediterranean and Indian to Italian, Chinese and Middle Eastern, there are lots to choose from as well as traditional pub fayre and fi sh and chips.A promenade, also a cycle path, runs all the way from Swansea to Mumbles' landmark Victorian pier. En route is the Lido at Blackpill, a safe haven for children to play on the beach, by the pool, or on its many playground attractions.Further along the promenade in Oystermouth is a plethora of leisure and entertainment options including a Norman castle.
