Being well groomed is no longer a status symbol reserved for the ladies who lunch, on a day to day basis more women through their work and social commitments are in the public eye and showing they believe in themselves by keeping their appearance polished and up to date. ith the shock reveal of Posh's new oh so short urchin cut even the most hardened fashionista would need to carefully consider taking the plunge. This leaves those of us more hesitant mortals wanting a clear direction on what is hot this autumn. The buzz words are cascade, tumble, bounce, movement and texture with ruffles and shine, no flat limp ironed to death over processed straw hair please! So how do you get from the magazine image to the one you see in the mirror? Visualise Make sure you take a photo with you or arrive early enough at the salon to find an image you find appealing, a good stylist will always welcome as much input from you as possible, and after all it is your hairstyle. Compromise Remember whilst you may not suit an exact copy of Posh's crop there's bound to be a variation of the style that will bring you alive. Learn Encourage a tousled style by using the same products as your hairdresser, if they need to use the product to get the right finish then so will you. Listen The key to making your chosen style look amazing is to allow your stylist to tailor the cut to suit your face shape and lifestyle. Versatility Take time to ask your stylist how to alter the style for different occasions; after all you wouldn't wear your work clothes for a hot date, would you? Respect Regular maintenance is key, roots and split ends are on a par with chipped nail polish, laddered tights and scuffed shoes. W byMeinir Moncrieffe A new style may need a new colour, So what's new? Youthful, multi tonal, natural looking hues. The skill here is identifying your natural skin tones and complementing these with four or five different high and low lights, merged with a glossing over tone to ensure fluidity and shine. Using so many colours to achieve the desired overall effect means that these stunning natural tones don't necessarily need to be your own, here are some suggested variations….. A fashion statement in itself will not make you look stunning, it's the profound confidence you feel from knowing you look good which makes you stand out from the crowd.
