P 38NETWORK SHENETWORK I am not very confident using colour and pattern can you advise me on the best way to bring it into my lounge? Wallpaper is back in a very big way and there are lots of fantastic designs out at the moment and in many dramatic colours. As you are new to colour and pattern we would recommend starting with a feature wall, many of the wallpapers have matching fabrics so you could have cushions made for your sofa and then you can introduce coordinating accessories in the matching colour tones to bring your design together. If you did not want to use wallpaper you could choose to have curtains or blinds made as there are many glamorous fabrics in lots of rich colours and then coordinate again with matching cushions and accessories. My bedroom is small and I would like to give it a light and glamorous look can you give me some design ideas. You can start by changing the colour scheme of your bedroom by painting the walls a new shade or make a feature wall using metallic wallpaper as they reflect the light and give you instant impact. Accessorise your bed with a new throw and cushions in sumptuous colours and textures. A great way of adding lots of light and glamour to a bedroom are chandeliers and mirrored furniture. I would like to have new curtains made for my lounge and want to use a modern floral pattern can you recommend any fabrics? One of the fabrics we love at the moment is the new range from Villa Nova called Misaki, it has a large colour pallet and fantastic selection of designs. We also can recommend Marenka from Romo with its rich colours and texture. Inspirational Interiors by Alison Jane Q Q Q

SHENETWORK SHEP 39 My dining room at the moment is very pale and boring I would like to add warmth what is the best colour to use? At the moment one of the biggest trend colours is orange, depending on how bold you are why not try adding tones of orange for your curtains or go bespoke and have your dining chairs reupholstered. Add light with a mirror; the bigger the better and use a selection of lighting in the room to create different moods. Look for accessories in orange like vases, napkins or a rug. My teenage daughter is looking for some black and white wallpaper for her bedroom I am worried it will make her room dark do you have any suggestions? It can be very difficult with teenage girls wanting to design their own bedrooms but we have wallpaper from a company called Nono which has a bold heart design and if you use lots of pink and mirror accessories it will keep it light and airy. I have inherited an old chaise from a relative and I would love to have it recovered in a bold fabric can you give me some ideas of fabric? Chaises are back in fashion and they are a great design piece for the home you can give them so many looks just by the fabric you chose. As you want bold Villa Nova have a red fabric which looks very striking or you could go with one of this season's fashion colours bold purple. Q Q Q
